Savoury Mushroom Pizza

Savoury Pizza is one of my favourite meals. I make Pizza every other Friday for dinner because they are any easy loaded meal if I do so say myself

I have made a few veggie pizza and this one is by far the best. I love that it is savoury and gooey at the same time.

What is on the Pizza

I had a batch of left mushroom in the fridge from the market and wanted to use them all and being a Friday I had all the excuses to make pizza 😊 Onions ,thyme and rosemary are my favourite mushroom herbs. They being out the earthiness of the mushrooms and they never taste so good.

What mushrooms to use

I used swiss brown mushrooms as they are my favourite but I think any brown mushrooms will do with this pizza. White button mushroom will do as well.

How long does it take to make 

Good things comes to those who wait. Take your time and you will enjoy the best pizza you have ever had in your life. I would approximate 40minutes might be less depending on how hungry your are?!

Prepare your pizza base. I large store bought wholemeal pizza base. I used homade dough, the recipe I will share soon. Preheat the oven @ 180°

Prepare the ingredients by dicing the onions, garlic and chop the mushroom to medium size not fine.

In a saucepan drizzle olive oil and fry onions on medium heat until browning for about 2 minutes. Make sure the ingredients are combined and the sauce is reduced. Add the herbs and the garlic and cook down until it is all combined for another 3 to 4 minutes.

When all done, transfer the ingredients on to the pizza. Spread the cheese first on the pizza base and then a layer of savoury mushroom and finish with a sprinkle of cheese on top. I use mature cheddar for my pizza as it is flavoursome. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the crust is browning. Garnish with chives.
