Large bunch Spinach About 3 uncooked handfuls. Roughly chopped
200g Feta Cheese
1 Large Onion Sliced
1 Tbsp Oregano
Salt and Pepper to taste

Spinach Feta Pie


    I appreciate good a simple delicious feta pie. I love the crumbled fetta with spinach it brings the best out of the spinach and this recipe is quite timeless.

    This Spinach and Feta Pie Recipe uses just 4 ingredients so simple and yet delicious. Eating pies should not be a scary thing as long as you eat them in moderation. I quite enjoy pies once in a while and I make them simple not too complicated, not to mention my hubby eats most of them whenever I make them.



    In a large saucepan bring about 500ml of water to boil. Add the kale to the boiling water put back the lid on and steam for 60seconds. Immediately drain the water and run the spinach under cold water for 60 seconds until it is no longer holt to stop the cooking. When cold enough squeeze excess water from the spinach using your hands.


    Caramelise the onions in a small saucepan until translucent. To make the pie mixture first pulse the spinach in the food processor for 3seconds add the onions and the rest of the spices and pulse together for another 5 seconds to mix together.


    If you are using store bought pastry use the butter pastry as it has minimal additives. Also depending with the pie dish you are using make sure there is enough for the size of the dish. Lay the pastry at the bottom of the dish and put your filling before you cover with another top layer of the pastry making sure the pie mix in nicely folded in. When that is done. Bake the pie @180°C for 20-25 or until golden brown. Save with a salad.
    Notes: You can use eggs if preferred it also works fine. For this recipe I would use 1-2 eggs.

    This looks so easy to make.
    And I bet that’d taste as good. Deliciousness!

    However, I’d like to know if I can make this like 2-3 days ahead of time a rather than just a night, store it in the fridge and the reheat? I’m asking for instances where one is planning a mini get together with friends.

    It is definitely a quick and easy meal. This keeps in the fridge for 1 to 2 days as I have done so for meal preps, but I would recommend making these a day before for a gathering rather than 3 days as I have never done that before. You can experiment and see how you go. Hope you get to make them.

    I don’t know pies, but I read about them quite a lot. The pictures look yummy, and it sounds that the meal is quickly prepared. I prefer Asian and Spanish cuisine, but I will surely try it out. Especially it is made with spinach, and I love healthy food. Next week I get my oven, and I will add the recipe to my Do-list.:)
